Disney's California Adventure

This theme park is based on the great state of California

It is much smaller than Disneyland, but lots of fun!

Just a normal summer's day. And with Mel's sisters visiting, we decide to take a weekend and head to LA/Hollywood and see the attractions. Seeing that I've never been to Disney's California Adventure, I decided to give it a go. At least there was supposed to be more rollercoasters around so I figure it would be fun.

This is Jeff standing in front of the grand gates of Disney's California Adventure Park.

This is me. Basically, this park is based entirely on the state of California and its many attractions.

When we walked in, I was quite surprised as there didn't seem to be that many things around. It looked small, and there weren't that many ppl around either.

This shows a typical vineyard that you can see all over California. I believe they even had wine tasting in here.

That is a nice ferris wheel in the background

We just decided to take some pics.

One of the first rides I rode on was this rollercoaster named Mullohand Drive - based on the famous Mullohand Drive itself. Apparently, it is a very winding road - which reflects the rollercoaster which is very 'winding'

Basically, there's twists and turns and dips, etc... Not bad to warm up the day.

When the day gets warmer, the kids start to play in the water park shooting each other with water cannons.

Just a picture of Jeff and some wierd contraption behind.

In the middle of the park is a great lagoon. This is one shot of it.

We were lining up to go into the ferris wheel. There weren't really that many rides here, so we decided to go on this one just for the heck of it.

That is one giant orange peel. Basically a ride that goes round and round and makes you sick.

But THIS ride, is pretty good. Although it only lasts for 30 seconds... They play a mean trick on you by counting down from 5...4...3.... whoosh! and up you go. You never even hear '2' and '1' or 'go'

So, we rode the ferris wheel. This one was a ferris wheel with a twist since it actually rocks back and forth.

I must say I felt sick after this ride since the rocking motion was pretty bad. Not to mention it was such a boring ride, waiting for people to get on and off. I couldn't wait to get off.

California Screamin is probably the best ride in the park in my opinion. This rollercoaster is worthy of Six Flags.

The girls... and Terence on the side.

Just a shot of all the wood around the place, structures holding up the rollercoasters.

This rollercoaster is unique because it shoots you off from the start; unlike others where you climb and use gravity for speed. This one relies on pure acceleration.

Jeff, Donald and Brian waiting on Paradise Pier ride (based on Santa Monica). This is the "before" shot.

This is the moment of take off

This is the "after" shot, hair all ruffled and all.

The girls took a ride on the ferris wheel.

This is one of the characters from Lilo and Stitch. Just some furry mouse.

Kids playing in the waterpark again.

Me in front of the water tube ride.

Terence and Jeff's turn

In front of the famous Western Pacific, a train that goes up the west coast.

This is actually a restaurant that looks like a train.

For lunch, we go back to the parking lot.

Steven trying a broadway move on a lamp pole.

This would be Donald's level.

The Golden Gate bridge.

We took this picture inside a 3D ride called Soarin' over California. This was a very unique ride as it gives you a tour of the best that California has to offer. Recommend this ride to anyone.

Of course, California is not complete without Hollywood. These are the 3 sisters posing in front of the sign.

This is me, with the fake clouds and skies in the background.

The group of girls.

Some wierd alien.

And a crazy lady with fruit in her hair.

Got a picture with the lady from 101 dalmations.

We walked into the animation theatre. Here, they show you how to make cartoons.

Kelly looking puzzled at the fairy tale book.

This was a great show. Worth the price of admission alone. Based on a real, longer show in Broadway I think.

A picture of the backlot sign at night.

Paradise Pier, just like Santa Monica

Panorama shot of the fun side of this park with all the rides, etc...

We had dinner here, by the pier.

And then at night came the famous electrical parade.

This parade is apparently a classic that has lasted for many many years.

It is basically a parade of floats of bright lights

And characters from Disney movies.

People line the streets and go nuts.

But I took a lot of pictures too... dunno why

Like this pink elephant for example.

And puff the magic dragon?

And of course, it had to end patriotically with an american eagle.

At night, people filing out of the park gates

The "A"

Another night shot.

Me in the "A"

Stayed overnight in this hotel that seemed to made a miscalculation with their curbs. These are the boys showing the mistake.

This was actually the next day in Universal Studios. Look closely at the photo in the front row... this is the Jurassic Park ride.
